Confidence, artistry and connection are the focus of Martin’s music making. With an exciting arsenal of repertoire, he is a sophisticated performer who is hugely expressive.

Martin develops refreshingly individual interpretations that connect with the force of the music itself to entertain and stimulate his audience.

Early inspirations were sixties blues and rock. Playing electric guitar in various bands in the late sixties and early seventies, he experienced performing at major venues, writing songs and recording in studio sessions.

Taking up classical guitar in the early seventies, Martin won a scholarship to study guitar, composition and conducting at the London College of Music and subsequently composition at the Royal Academy of Music.

His classical concert career started in 1981 with Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room debuts. Concert tours have taken him to all the continents and he has performed at most major British venues including The Vortex, 100 Years Gallery and Iklectik in London.
